An escape into a different world is almost on a par with a whole weekend away. This truffle hunt and lunch package is a foray into the world of black truffles from their discovery underground, to learning how to clean and store them and finally indulging in a gourmet 2 course lunch/dinner made using Red Hill Truffles. 

Jenny, along with talented truffle hunting dogs, provides expert insights into this fascinating culture, once the preserve of Europeans. The truffle hunt with last for about 1.5 hrs.  The truffle lunch/dinner at nearby Max’s Restaurant completes the experience with food and wine enjoyed in a very Mornington Peninsula setting overlooking vineyards, across the hinterland and out to the bay.

Truffle Lunch Menu

First Course

King Prawn and Ora King Salmon Raviolo

Silky smooth, aromatic bisque, topped with finely grated Red Hill truffle. Served with in-house baked wholemeal bread, aromatic dukkah, and cultured butter with grated truffle.

Main Course

Herb-filled Chicken Breast

Velvety white bean purée, vibrant flowers from Karls's farm, delicate chicken jus, sea parsley oil, and sliced Red Hill truffle.

Accompaniments

Layered potato mille-feuille with caramelised onion, labneh, and finely chopped chives.

Fresh local tomato salad with farm herbs and Nonna’s relish.

Dessert Option

Max’s Mini Magnum: Hazelnut, Frangelico, and Vanilla, finished with fresh sliced Red Hill truffle (additional $15).
